Director and Development Manager for the NSW Government, in the repositioning and refurbishment of the Government building, in Bligh Street the heart of the CBD financial district.
Roles included the establishment of the Governments Brief and the redefining of their office space standards, for ‘B’ grade assets.
Conflict resolution of the various Government Departments regarding floor and space requirements to achieve the necessary goals required.
Gowing Bros Building, Market Street, Sydney
CLIENT: Gowing Bros
VALUE: $25 million
Director and Project Manager for the refurbishment of this heritage icon situated on the corner of Market and George Streets Sydney. The key drivers in this difficult assignment, where the early staged trade packages required; to allow, the famous Gowing’s store to trade through the refurbishment.
Major structural modifications were made to the interior, with floors being removed and the strengthening of the façade to the then new NSW earthquake codes.
Other considerable benefits for the owners were explored and approved these include the negotiations with Council for heritage floor space and the additional space being allowed for extra floors to be allowed on the roof.
Tenancy schedules and exit strategies were put in place to allow the rotation of the tenants being retained, in order to allow the complete refurbishment of all floors and services.
